Telemark is one of the ski techniques (ski turning). This ski technique is primarily specific as that who is on the ski is actually almost kneeling, has always one feet forward and thus he can make elegant turns. In order to make this technique impressive it is possible to use special equipment recognizable due to the firmly fixed snow boot toe.
Thanks to this the skier can take the correct body position. This style originated in the 19th century in Norway. The first begin can be awarded to the town Mordegal where the ski enthusiasts lived and their hobby was skiing. One of them – the farmer Sondre Norheim – was a pioneer of this ski technique. Skiing was his passion. Later this technique stepped back but at present it goes through its rebirth.
